Gay-Friendly Lodges in the Seychelles

When you think of the Seychelles, you picture gradients of cool cerulean water, ancient grey granite boulders, and lush green forests. It’s quite a stunning colour palette, if you ask us! Throw in the island textures of silky-soft sand, winding wooden walkways, and balmy waters, and you have yourself a once-in-a-lifetime island vacation that will make your Instagram followers greener with envy than the palm trees.

We asked our Travel Experts to spill the tea (ahem, Piña Coladas) on their favourite gay-friendly luxury lodges in the Seychelles. These luxury lodges will blow your speedo right off, with private pools and all-yours-to-explore islands. Let’s dive in...

North Island

In the far north of the Indian Ocean archipelago, you'll find North Island, 201 hectares of pristine beauty and 11 spacious and airy villas. They're all about barefoot luxury with thatch-roof private villas, polished wooden floors, white drapes, and floor-to-ceiling windows.

As a guest of North Island, you’ll feel like you have the entire island to yourself – thanks to the dedicated staff and secluded setting. On East Beach, you’ll find the villas and a charming piazza – perfect for a romantic date night with your partner.

Cross over to West Beach, where the Sunset Bar sets the scene with laid-back vibes, tapas, refreshing cocktails, and mellow tunes. And for those celebrating love, there’s even a beach dedicated to honeymooners. We’ll cheers to that!

There are numerous diving spots dotted around the island to explore the beautiful creatures of the ocean. Glide on the clear waters on a kayak or explore the island via numerous trails.

Oh, and did we mention the helipad? Fancy transport, who dis?

Six Senses Zil Pasyon

This is the type of drama we want in our lives: super-sized granite boulders, oversized villas, panoramic vistas of the Indian Ocean with saturated colours, and over-the-top luxury! To reach Six Senses Zil Pasyon, you'll take a short but scenic 20-minute helicopter flight from SEZ (the airport) in Mahe.

The private island features 28 one-bedroom villas, perfect for romantic getaways, as well as two-, three-, and four-bedroom villas ideal for family or gay group holidays. Each villa has a private infinity pool, while the three- and four-bedroom villas have two pools each!

An island holiday here will be a feast for all your senses – see what we did there? Indulge in relaxing spa treatments, keep your six-pack in check at the fitness centre, and dive into new experiences – literally – by exploring sea life through snorkelling and diving, even if it’s your first time. For more adventure, go island hopping to Vallée de Mai (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), Aride Island – a bird lover’s paradise – and Curieuse Island, where you’ll meet giant, ancient tortoises.

If you're looking for experiences a little out of the ordinary, learn Creole, watch a movie under the stars, and clink a drink to a stunning day on a sunset cruise.

Four Seasons Seychelles

Take things slow at the Four Seasons! The world-renowned resort is located on the main island of Mahe, in the secluded Petite Anse Bay. This location is ideal to have the best of both worlds. It's close to the cultural experiences and day trips but also tucked away to allow for lazy days in the sun.

The resort is home to 67 villas and residences featuring numerous room types. All rooms are stand-alone units (so, no neighbours) with sunken bathtubs (need we say more) and private pools (yes, please!). The only decision you need to make is your view: blue ocean or lush green forests?

Besides the normal water-based activities like snorkelling and surfing, you can also opt for SUP lessons and guided tours to the colourful reefs. While you’re at it, tour the nearby islands by boat (because who doesn’t want to sunbathe on a catamaran in the midst of paradise?).

You can also tour Mahe island to learn about the culture and taste the cuisine. Afterwards, take to the skies on a scenic helicopter flight. And for the romantics, we’d highly recommend the private three-course sunset dinners. It's like a romantic movie come to life.

Blue Safari Seychelles

If one private island is not enough, try four! Blue Safari Seychelles is a resort on a collection of islands: Alphonse, Cosmoledo, Astove, and the Amirantes Islands. It’s the ideal location to explore remote atolls (ring-shaped coral reefs, islands, and islets). Let’s explore the different islands and accommodation options.

Alphonse Island is wrapped in crystal clear water (as we’d expect) and dotted with Beach Villas, perfect for families of four. For larger groups of eight, the four-bedroom Beach Retreats offer secluded island holiday vacations.

For something more intimate and private for you and your significant other, 22 Beach Bungalows come with private decks and outdoor showers. Here, you can experience a different kind of safari, an ocean safari with dolphins, whales, and turtles.

The Cosmoledo Atoll is a collection of islands perfect for a remote getaway. Leave the world behind and stay in an eco pod for just the two of you. The Eco Pods are simplistic, uncomplicated, and brag with stunning views of the private island. Spend your days freediving, fly fishing, scuba diving, and snorkelling.

For something completely different and out of the ordinary, float the seas on the luxury catamaran, Quo Vadis. With four luxury cabins, you can explore the outer islands on a multi-day expedition. Boat party, anyone?

Finally, the Astove Atoll is home to the Astove Coral House, a six-bedroom that only caters for a handful of guests per week. Each en-suite bedroom boasts a garden view, calming decor, and tranquil surroundings.
