So, Kenya caught your eye, did she? Personally, we love to visit Kenya in East Africa and have done so many times we've lost count! But why does she keep us under her spell, luring us back in with her wildlife-studded savannah and sun-soaked beaches? Well, here are just five of the top reasons we love to visit Kenya.
See generations of fabulous felines when you visit Kenya
We'd be silly not to put game viewing first, as Kenya is world-famous for this very reason! It's probably why you were thinking of visiting in the first place. But why Kenya over other destinations? As fabulous as all African safari destinations are, we have a special place in our hearts for Kenya's safari activities.
Not only is it home to the Big 5, but nature documentary makers flood Kenya's Maasai Mara National Reserve's vast savannah to witness the greatest calendar event, namely the Great Wildebeest Migration. The fact that the word "great" is in there should indicate its magnificence. But oh, you will only know once you're faced with its grandeur!
There are over 60 national parks and reserves in Kenya, but the most famous by far are the Maasai Mara, Amboseli and Tsavo National Parks. Be sure to add a hot air balloon safari to your itinerary! It's simply the best way to really experience the sheer size of the Maasai Mara and the Great Migration.
The Great Migration is more dramatic than any show you'll ever see on TV
So, you're ready to flaunt your fabulous self at the beach? When it comes to Kenya, you don't have to choose between safari and sunny beaches. You can have both! Now that's the kind of holiday we're down for.
Some of the most popular beaches include Lamu Archipelago, Diani Beach, Funzi Island, and Watamu, all known for their swim-friendly sandy shores. Our Travel Experts will ensure you stay at only the most gay-friendly luxury resorts on Kenya's beaches so you can relax and focus on enjoying your holiday.
Paddle in the warm waters of Kenya's Malindi coast
Kenya has eight spectacular lakes, including freshwater Lake Naivasha, where you can see hippos, plenty of birdlife activity, and other game species.
Then there's our personal favourite, Lake Nakuru, a "soda lake". If you love pink, this lake will, well, leave you tickled pink! Picture a whole flamboyance of flamingos painting the horizon pastel pink with their plumage! We highly recommend you go on a boating safari to get the best views of these birds.
Pretty as a picture, Lake Nakuru is more packed than a warehouse sale
Feeling adventurous? Kenya will tick that box too! With mesmerising mountain peaks, it's begging to be explored. Some of these mountains include the well-known Mount Kenya, as well as Mount Longonot and Mount Elgon. Mount Kenya is a challenging but doable climb and will take you around four to seven days, so make sure you plan a long enough holiday to still enjoy the many other things that make Kenya special.
A famous postcard picture of Kenya you might've seen shows snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro showing off in the distance. And while, yes, it's true that you can see it from Kenya's side, you'll have to hop on over to neighbouring Tanzania to take on its notoriously challenging summit – the highest in Africa!

Oh, the Maasai tribes of Kenya. What a special culture and warm people! And we're not only talking about the warm colours they wrap themselves in. They're radiant and will show you their famous jump dances.
Our favourite way to spend time with the Maasai is on a walking safari or running through their land so they can guide you through their customs and show you the world through their eyes.

Need we say more? Kenya is the ultimate safari destination to visit for your next holiday. It offers spades of adventure, relaxation, culture, cuisine, and so much more. We'll bet you'll be just like us and long to return as soon as you step onto the plane to head home! Kenya will steal a piece of your heart. Let her!
